Rid Your Home from Smoke Smell... Permanently.

A permanent, safe, non-invasive way of removing smoke smell from your home.

Eliminate Smoke Smell for Good.

Smoke from forest fire can be very difficult to get rid of once it permeates a home. Smoke particles are small and saturate virtually every aspect of a building . The scent from those smoke particles can last for years.

Sanitizing your home with  Chlorine Dioxide from Big Ben Cleaning can put an end to smoke smell... for good.

It's Permanent.

Chlorine Dioxide is a sanitizer, meaning that it neutralizes any of the natural noxious elements found in compounds like smoke. Once neutralized, the chemical structure of the particle is changed and any elements associated with smell or irritation are gone for good. It is the closest thing to giving your entire house a bath, but on a molecular level.

It's Quick.

Fumigating a home with Chlorine Dioxide takes only a few hours. Setup and take down a few more hours. Once the process is complete, it is completely safe to live in your home without fear. It is entirely reasonable to expect that the entire process can take place while you are at work. You come home to your house as you left it, except now it is sanitized and without the odor.

It's Safe

Chlorine Dioxide functions to neutralize and sanitize noxious elements.  It is used to clean drinking water in many municipalities. Used in a different way, it has also been used to clean harsh and hard to cleanse environments, such as toxic mold problems after floods and neutralizing smoke smells after a house fire. It was the favored process used in decontaminating the buildings affected by the 2001 anthrax attacks.

It's Guaranteed

This is such an effective process, we confidently offer one of the best warranties in the business. If we can't get rid of an unwanted odor in your home, we will give you a full refund of your money. If we don't solve your odor problem, you don't pay and we work for free.

Frequently Asked Questions

ARE THERE ANY RESIDUAL EFFECTS AFTER SANITATION?

Chlorine Dioxide treatments break down to leave a very small trace amount of non-toxic "salts". They are microscopic in size and impercievable to the naked eye. Made up of chloride and oxygen, they are completely biodegradable and absorbed into the environment. Unlike other fumigation processes, there is no additional mop up or cleaning once a house has been treated.

WILL IT AFFECT PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES?

Yes, but only in a positive way. Chlorine Dioxide gas is an oxidant whose very small molecules attach to particulate such as pollen, spores and bacteria. Once attached, it neutralizes the noxious particles making them harmless. If there is an allergy sufferer in your home, it would not be uncommon to notice a significant improvement in allergy symptoms.

ARE THERE ANY RESIDUAL EFFECTS OF FUMIGATION?

When Chlorine Dioxide gas is released into atmosphere, it has a very short half-life, usually within minutes. During treatment concentrations are kept at a high level for the cleaning agent to do it's work, generally  for a few hours. Once the molecules attach themselves to foreign particles, they sanitize and neutralize them, then break down into microscopic "salts", mainly chloride and oxygen. These biodegradable substances break down and are dissipated into the atmosphere, typically fully within 72 hours or less. There are no adverse effects or dangers during this time.

IS THE PROCEDURE SAFE?

This process for sanitizing environments has been used since the early 90's in multiple settings and circumstances. It has been thoroughly studied by the scientific community as to its effectiveness and safety. This includes studies done by such organizations as the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and US National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Health. In 2001 the procedure was used to clean up buildings involved in the Anthrax attacks and in 2005 to eradicate dangerous molds in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE?

We need space to work during fumigation and access to all rooms. For your own safety, you cannot be in your house during the procedure. There is no need to clean or move things around in preparation. Give us a few hours to do our work and when you return your home is ready to occupy. No clean up, no mess. Your home will be just as you left it.
